This annual event has become a huge deal in the Grand Strand – and for good reason! Visit Market Common anytime Friday, Saturday, or Sunday during Labor Day weekend to take part in one of the area’s largest festivals of the year. Indulge in a smorgasbord of BBQ and other tasty treats as you peruse the area. With live music, kid’s areas, arts & craft vendors, fireworks, and so much more, this festival is an absolute “must” during your Labor Day weekend and is very family friendly so feel free to bring the whole crew along.
Broadway at The Beach
Head to this popular venue during Labor Day weekend to enjoy more than just the usual day of shopping and dining. During Labor Day weekend, Broadway is hosting a Labor Day Extravaganza, featuring live music, fireworks, street performers, and more! Friday will feature a traveling brass quintet, live statues, and a Michael Jackson tribute at Legends in Concert. Saturday will showcase performances from Southern Dance Company, a traveling beach brass quartet, and finish with a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Broadway.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Nothing screams “summer” quite like baseball and what could be a better way to say goodbye to the season than by going to a game! Lucky for you, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans are hosting a home series Labor Day weekend against the Carolina wildcats. Stop by Saturday, Sunday, or Monday evening to participate in this family friendly outing. If you make it out on Sunday or Monday, be sure to stick around after the game to see a special fireworks show!
Live Music at Apache Pier
For a fun night at the beach, head over to the Apache Pier on Friday, Aug. 30th to hear the smooth variety of Party Favor, a popular local band. Party Favor plays everything from the 60’s – now and knows how to energize a crowd. Enjoy a scenic evening on the East Coast’s longest wooden pier where you can sit back, relax, get great food and drinks, or even fish for your dinner as you listen to live entertainment. Dirty Myrtle Mud Run
Kick start your Labor Day weekend with the Dirty Myrtle Mud Run, taking place Saturday, Aug. 31st. This exhilarating run encompasses a grueling three mile run through a course containing nearly 20 challenging obstacles, many of which involve getting down and dirty. Run up hills then crawl through mud pits and swamp like ditches. There is also a one mile kid’s course for any young ones that want to participate. Reward yourself after the race by sticking around for food, drinks, and live music that continues through the evening.
