Going Green at Ocean Creek Resort
Ocean Creek Resort is dedicated to make the resort and its practices green as we implement programs and look to add more in the future.
The Ocean Creek’s green practices include:
- Bronze level Green Leader with TripAdvisor
- Linen reuse
- Towel reuse
- Paper and cardboard recycling program
- Use of energy-efficient light bulbs
- Use Energy Star appliances
- Heat and cooling controls in each individual unit
- Energy-efficient boilers/furnaces
- Energy-efficient heat pumps
- Preventative maintenance
- Exterior automatic lighting
- Will soon implement tracking water use
- Use of mainly recycled toilet paper, facial tissue and paper towels that contain biodegradable products and recycled packaging
- Use of Ecolab products throughout the resort
- Purchase locally-grown produce
- Correct discarding of fluorescent light bulbs
- Reusable cutlery are used for in-house dining
- Minimal use of herbicides, pesticides and chemicals are used on landscaping projects
- Landscaping uses native vegetation
- Rain water collection and permeable paving is used to minimize storm water surplus
- Excess items from the resort are regularly donated to local organizations
