Off-Season Attractions Near Ocean Creek Resort
Summer might be over but don’t think for a second that the beach slips into hibernation after the warm weather disappears – quite the opposite, actually! Many of the local Myrtle Beach attractions stay open throughout the year and simply adjust their hours to better serve the seasonal guests, making it easy to find things to fill your itinerary. Check out some of our guests’ favorite off-season attractions:
Myrtle Beach House of Blues
Often touted as Myrtle Beach’s top spot for live entertainment, the Myrtle Beach House of Blues offers an eclectic array of live music and much, much more. This spacious venue, conveniently located right across the street at Barefoot Landing attracts a wide array of both local and national talent. Former performers include Rush, Corey Smith, Neon Trees, and Dave Chappelle – to name a few. The House of Blues also hosts several events throughout the year like their New Year’s Eve Bash, Beer Festivals, Halloween Party, Art and Wine Festivals, and popular weekly Gospel Brunch.
The Carolina Opry
Located near North Myrtle Beach, this theatre is home to many famous shows that exude talent throughout the year even with holiday themed shows. One of their most adored performances is the annual Christmas Special which highlights the colors and sounds that make us feel at home during Christmastime.
Meet new nautical friends and explore the depths of the sea at the Ripley's Aquarium. This lively destination boasts being the most popular aquarium in the state – and it’s not hard to see why! This multi-level attraction is home to exhibits like the “Rainbow Rock”, “Ray Bay”, “Living Gallery”, and the famous “Dangerous Reef” glide path which allows guests to get up close and personal with real life sharks! While the aquarium is a short drive south in central Myrtle Beach, a trip to the Ripley’s Aquarium is fun for guests of all ages!
Hollywood Wax Museum
Get up close and personal with your favorite famous idols, find your way through a maze of mirrors, and survive a zombie apocalypse – all under one roof! The Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center is actually home to three exciting attractions and is located not far from Ripley’s Aquarium. The wax museum is the most popular draw and features a wide array of hand-crafted sculptures of famous persons like Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, Michael Jackson, and even “The King” himself – Elvis. Hannah’s House of Mirrors and Breakout are the other two attractions that can be enjoyed – all for one ticket price.
