Myrtle Beach Holiday Events


The Myrtle Beach area is incredibly busy gearing up for the Holiday Season, which offers a diverse collection of fun, festive, family friendly events. From cheerful tree lightings and holiday parades to spectacular light shows and bustling festivals – you are sure to find plenty to keep you busy during your holiday stay in Myrtle Beach. Enjoy our run down of the area’s top Holiday Events and pencil in a few during your vacation:



 



Dickens Christmas Show & Festival – November 14th – 17th



Come one, come all – to the biggest and best Christmas Festival along the coast! The Dickens Christmas Festival attracts vendors from all over to display their offerings and you can find everything from Christmas decorations, handmade jewelry, and specialty food items to home décor, art of all genres, and toys. There will also be various holiday displays and performances throughout the weekend. This event is held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and tickets may be purchased in advance or the day of.



 



Lighting of The Landing – November 15th



You won’t have to travel far to take part in this cheerful event. Drive right across the street from Ocean Creek Resort to Barefoot Landing to enjoy their annual Tree Lighting and Santa’s Welcome. The evening will include a festive fireworks show that welcome’s Santa to the area, free carousel rides, holiday music, and the highly anticipated lighting of the Barefoot Landing Christmas tree. This event takes place from 7pm – 9pm and is free to the public.



 



Broadway at The Beach Tree Lighting – November 23rd



Bundle up the little ones and head to Broadway at The Beach for the annual tree lighting ceremony! The evening will include live holiday performances from local artists including music and dance prior to the main event. At 8pm, the tree will light up for all to see to enjoy. The lighting will be followed by a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Broadway. This event is free to the public and takes place from 6pm – 8pm.



 



Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast – November 23rd



Head south to Murrells Inlet on the weekend before Thanksgiving to participate in an annual inlet front tradition. The Oyster Roast is held in the parking lot of Wicked Tuna and will feature live music, a kids play area, and – of course – tons and tons of oysters. There will also be plenty of other food vendors for those who don’t quite care for oysters, in addition to several drink vendors. Tickets to this event may be purchased in advance or the day of the event.



 



Holiday Wine Tasting – November 23rd



Wine experts and beginners alike are invited to the annual Holiday Wine Tasting at Croissants Bistro & Bakery. This lush event will feature several wines from around the world for guests to enjoy and compare. There will also be live music from Tom Handlin and Paul Grimshaw and a raffle drawing for an in home wine tasting. The wine tasting will take place from 2pm – 5pm. Tickets are only $10 and may be purchased in advance or the day of.



 



Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Boat Parade – November 30th



See something different this year at the Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Boat Parade. Watch as boats of all shapes and sizes deck out in holiday decorations and compete in this unique holiday event. The boats will begin at the Little River Inlet and float down the Intracoastal Waterway, finally finishing at Dock Holidays Marina and there are several public viewing areas along the way. This parade starts at 5pm and ends at approximately 7pm.



 



Night of A Thousand Candles – December 5th – 21st



Guests seeking to enjoy a true Christmas spectacle are invited to Brookgreen Gardens to enjoy the Night of A Thousand Candles. Each weekend prior to Christmas in December, the gardens will light up for all to see with thousands of delicately placed lights and over 5,000 hand lit candles. Visitors can stroll the glowing paths and enjoy hot cider and caroling. Inlet Affairs will also be offering plates for sale for hungry guests. Tickets for this event may be purchased in advance or the night of.



 



North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade – December 7th



Grab a few chairs and scope out your spot along Main Street for the annual North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade. Watch as festive floats, walking groups, and musical troupes from all over the area gather to celebrate the holiday season. The parade will begin at 5:30 on Main Street and will continue down Ocean Boulevard, ending around 7:00pm.
