Memories

We have twin boys, now eight, who have been to Ocean Creek every year of their life, (except the one where we HAD to take them to Disney World--and Mom was TOTALLY disappointed that we had to LOL).

Normally, we vacation in early June.   Well, one year, we decided to have a family reunion with my husband's family.  Unfortunately, to accommodate everyone's schedules, we were not able to travel until August (which my husband and I were concerned was still hurricane season). 

Each sibling rented a condo in the towers.  We had Angela Fellenz (extraordinary beach photographer, BTW!!!!) take family pictures to document the event.  Everyone was having a fantastic time, shopping, walking on the beach, etc.  Then it hit!

Hurricane Charley!  I was cooking a nice spaghetti dinner in our condo for all 20 of us, and thank goodness...had just poured the water off of the last pot of noodles, when we lost power.  I thought that everyone would panic...but we were all safe in the towers, had a great dinner, (and drinks - which didn't hurt the situation) and waited the storm out. 

The next day was THE best shell day that we have ever seen, the seas were calm, and everyone had a great last day. 

I cherish every memory that we have experienced at Ocean Creek..from watching the boys eat sand and run away from the waves that were chasing them...to the fishing nets...to the boogie boards and (heaven help me) look forward to the future trips where they are "those big dudes" playing football and watching girls in bikinis :)
