Memories

My wife and I honeymooned at Ocean Creek Resort 18 years ago. We were married on June 8, 1991 and arrived at the resort the following day. We were recent college graduates and scheduled to start grad school in August. Needless to say, we were not well off at the time. My wife opened wedding envelopes during the 12-hour drive in our 1989 Dodge Spirit. We breathed a sigh of relief with each new cash gift.

The resort employees were great to us. They were kind and very courteous - never treating us like a couple of kids. The resort treated us to a free bottle of champagne at the restaurant and a free steak dinner another night. The beach was awesome - made more spectacular by my beautiful wife. It is still our favorite trip ever.

On July 13 of this year, we are returning to the resort to celebrate our 18th anniversary. We are very excited to bring our son (Cameron, 11) and daughter (Haley, 8) with us. They have seen all of the pictures 1,000+ times and can't wait to see where we spent our first week of marriage. We hope to take pictures of the same locations, but with the kids included this time.

We have been blessed with a strong marriage and two great kids. We are all very excited about the return trip next month. What a great way to celebrate our marriage and our family!
