Are you getting tired of the same old day-to-day routine?  Is work getting a little tiresome?  Are you in dire need of a vacation away from the craziness but minutes away from outstanding entertainment, delicious food and oodles of shopping?  Then Ocean Creek Resort is the place to Relax, Refresh, Renew and Play.  You will immediately take note of the peaceful ZEN feeling when you enter our private gates.  We do not have any NEON flashing signs and no horns blowing within our fifty-seven acres.  For children there is no safer place to vacation.  Our private gates offer a very secure environment.  The speed limit is 15 mph with no thru traffic.  There is one-way in and one-way out.  Stroll through our majestic pathways with 300 year old oak trees lining the way. Our grounds are meticulously kept and the beautiful flowers are in bloom. The lovely pools so strategically placed invite you to relax and enjoy the nature that surrounds you.  Our Four Seasons Restaurant is top notch, offering an outstanding southern style breakfast buffet with an incredible staff.  Our newly renovated Beach Club is incredible with cold refreshing drinks flowing and tasty food to conquer your appetite.  While you are visiting the Beach Club, you can sit overlooking the beach and the infamous ocean creek swash (where Ocean Creek Resort received their name from) and enjoy the warm breeze.  We are waiting to make this all a reality for you!

Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of summer.  It is time for summer dresses, tans, picnics, barbeques, and fun in the sun.  I long for this day. Winter, no matter where you live, no matter if it is short or long, is winter.  This is the weekend that changes my way of thinking.  I look forward to being outside with the kids or lying by the pool catching some rays, driving down the road with my windows open and my music loud.

There is no other place to celebrate Memorial weekend then in Myrtle Beach.  There are so many different things to do in and around the area. Everything kicks off this Saturday May 28 at 9:30am with a parade honoring our country’s fallen heroes.  There will be floats, giant balloon characters, military and high school bands will parade through the crowd.  U.S. Senator John McCain will serve as this year’s Grand Marshall.  The parade starts at 27th Ave. North and heads south on North Kings Hwy before ending at 9th Ave. North around 12:30pm.  Taking place between 8th and 9th Ave. North after the parade will be the 60th Annual Sun Fun festival kickoff until 9:30pm.  There will be live music, a meet ‘n’ greet with stars from Disney and Nickelodeon shows. Some stars include, Jennette McCurdy (Sam) from iCarly, Noah and Ethan Munck (Gibby) from iCarly, Ariana Grande (Cat) from Victorious, Jake T. Austin (Max) from Wizards of Waverly Place, and many more.  My daughter is super excited about this part of the festivities.  There will be plenty of food to enjoy and some arts and crafts also.  David Archuleta, American Idol’s Season 7 Runner-up will close the day long celebration with a free live performance ocean front at 8pm.  After the performance will be a spectacular fireworks grand finale.

There is something for everyone this weekend!  I hope that everyone enjoys themselves and soaks in all that Myrtle Beach has to offer.  I know that my family and I will.  Hope to see you at the festivities!
