Top Myrtle Beach Events for June
Why do you come to the beach? If your answer isn’t “to go to the beach” – you might be in the wrong place. But, there are plenty of other things to do for those who aren’t a beach enthusiast or for those who just get their fill of salt and sand. Aside from a vast array of family friendly attractions, North Myrtle Beach also boasts a large selection of local events throughout the year that are sure to keep your itinerary full. Movies at McLean – Thursday, June 13th
Do you even want to just kick back and cuddle up with the fam after a busy day at the beach? You can do just that on June 13th at McLean Park! Once a month, McLean Park hosts a free movie under the stars and this month they are screening “The Nut Job”, a comical family favorite. Pack a few chairs and blankets and come to get a prime spot (the movies screen 15 minutes after sunset so the exact screening time may vary). There will also be movie snacks, like popcorn and soda, available for purchase via the North Myrtle Beach Lions club in case you need some munchies.
Restaurant week at Castano’s Italian Steakhouse – June 2nd – 8th
Restaurant week is fast approaching and Castano’s Italian Steakhouse is proud to be a 2014 participant. For those who are unfamiliar, Restaurant Week is an event where local restaurants offer a chef select menu at a discounted price to give guests a chance to come in try something new. Castano’s is offering a lavish three course spread that includes options like their famous she crap soup, a fresh caprese salad stack, stuffed chicken breast, petite filet, and limoncelle cheesecake – to name a few. SummerFest! At Barefoot Landing –Ongoing; All Summer
June marks the unofficial beginning of summer here at the beach and the official beginning of SummerFest! at Barefoot Landing. This outdoor shopping and dining complex will host an array of family friendly entertainment throughout the summer including traveling street entertainment, face painting, interactive games, karaoke, magicians, and much more! In addition, there will also be scheduled fireworks shows on Monday evenings at 10:15pm over the lakes (weather permitting) and free carousel rides all day on Saturdays. Just head to our across-the-street neighbor to take part in the fun!
Music on Main – Ongoing; Thursdays
Enjoy a night out on the town with friends and family with the Music on Main concert series! Each Thursday throughout the summer, the “horseshoe” section of North Myrtle Beach will host live seaside entertainment that’s free to the public! This is a great opportunity to grab a bite of eat downtown and even grab a few souvenirs at the local shops and listen to the sultry sounds of summer. Guests are also invited to bring a few chairs and blankets and grab an oceanfront seat to enjoy a relaxing evening of beachside music. This free event takes place from 7pm – 9pm.
