St. John’s Greek Festival - September 26th – 29th
Opa! This year marks the 22nd anniversary for this huge annual event. A popular festival for locals and visitors alike, the St. John’s Greek Festival brings authentic Greek food and entertainment to the Grand Strand. Enjoy everything from gryos to moussaka and everything imaginable in between. Live entertainment will go on throughout the weekend and there is plenty for the little ones to do so bring the whole family to this exciting event!
Brew at The Zoo – September 28th
Head south to Murrells Inlet for a night full of fun at the annual Brew at The Zoo. Held in the Lowcountry Zoo portion of Brookgreen Gardens, this event raises money for the gardens by providing a variety of tasty beverages and food in addition to live entertainment. Enjoy sampling over 25 craft brews from around the country and hear live music from Bullfrog, a popular local band. Guests can also stroll through the zoo and visit the friendly residents. Tickets are only $40 / person and the event will take place from 5:30-8:30 pm.
Irish Italian Festival - September 28th
Head to the north end of the Grand Strand and check out the 10th annual Irish Italian Fest. Held on Main Street, this even is hard to miss with live music, two performance stages, arts & crafts, and tons vendors selling food and beverages. There will also be street performers, plenty of children’s activities, and even a spaghetti eating contest! This event is held from 10am – 4pm.
Pawleys Island Festival of Music – September 28th – October 12th
This popular festival spans almost a month long and celebrates every genre of art throughout a wide variety of events. Enjoy everything from live concerts and art viewings to wine and culinary events and fundraisers. Many of the events are free to the public, like the en plein air art viewing and the chalk under the oaks viewing, while a few charge tickets for admission, like the concerts and gala events. 6th Annual Oktoberfest – October 4th – 6th
Join us for the best Oktoberfest celebration in town! Market Common is hosting this event for the 6th consecutive year and the lineup promises to be better than ever. Come try a variety of Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers and fill up on the best German food in town. This event is family friendly and there will be tons of games and activities for the tikes to participate in, so make sure to drop by Market Common for the area’s biggest and best Oktoberfest celebration!
Shrimpfest – October 12th – 13th
Tempt your palette at the 9th Annual Little River Shrimp Fest. Located along the north end of the Grand Strand, Little River serves up an entire day of succulent seafood and family fun at this local event. Enjoy three bands throughout the day, including regional celebrity Bibis Ellison. There will also be roaming street performers, an arts & crafts area, and – of course – plenty of shrimp and other local seafood offerings prepared in every way you can imagine!
Chilympics Chili Cook-Off – October 13th
Murrells Inlet is known for picturesque inlet views and their popular Marsh Walk area. Combine that with a chili cook-off and you have one spectacular event! This year marks the 14th year for this wildly popular event. Come enjoy tasting chili samples from around the region and voting on your favorites! There will also be live entertainment, drinks for purchase, and tons for the kids to do. This event takes place at Marsh Walk from 12-6 pm.
