Hot Summer Nights
Visitors with kids in tow should check out the “Hot Summer Nights” promotion put on during the summer months at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Perfect for groups and families, the boardwalk hosts free entertainment each night throughout the week. Monday is their popular kids carnival which features blow up rides, face painting, caricatures, and more, while Wednesday night features a spectacular fireworks show that lights up the night sky over Atlantic. Other nights feature free, live open air concerts and other street performers.
Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the Market Common is an outdoor shopping venue that was designed with an urban village feel. In addition to perusing the streets and window shopping, Market Common is a great place to catch a free flick. Head to Valor Park on Wednesday to enjoy a free movie under the stars. The movies shown are family friendly and guests can purchase snacks and beverages from vendors on site. The little ones aren’t left out either! Head to Grand Cinema 14 on any Tuesday-Thursday at 10 am for a free children’s movie. Popcorn and drinks are on sale for only $1 – what a deal!
Live Music at Garden City Pier
Venture south to Garden City to enjoy free, live music. The pier hosts bands every night during the summer from 8:30pm-11pm and the music varies with everything from soft rock to beach music. Bring the family along and take a stroll along the pier that extends almost 700 feet into the Atlantic – offering unbeatable views. If you are hungry, grab a bite to eat at the Pier Café, open every day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
This outdoor venue offers a maze of free, family friendly fun. Stroll through the streets and enjoy a walk over the lake where you can see local fish, ducks, and turtles. Visit the TIGERS preservation station to see other furry friends, like tigers and wolves. For a fee, you can interact and take pictures with the animals, but just going to take a peek is totally free of charge. Other nights throughout the week feature a free fireworks show over the lake and live music. Barefoot Landing is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon or evening with the family.
You can’t forget about the main reason why so many people flock here every year – the beach! Miles of white sandy shores wait for you to dip your toes into the water. Whether you are a professional beach bum or a daring wave catcher, the beach offers something for everyone. Lucky for you, the accommodations at Ocean Creek offer direct beach access, making a trip to the water almost effortless!
