We were fortunate to be host to a very special event and group of people this past weekend at Ocean Creek Resort.  For the 2nd straight year we welcomed the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual  Benevolent Association (NJFMBA) for their Myrtle Beach FLASH (Firefighters Land And Sea Holiday) event that raised $17,500 for the Connecticut Children's Burn Camp.

Each summer the NJFMBA sends firefighters to volunteer as counselors for this camp that allows children who have suffered fire related injuries a chance to leave behind the challenges that they face in their everyday lives and have fun just being regular kids.  Through the FLASH event, the NJ FMBA organized a group of golfers and fishermen to come to Myrtle Beach to share in great times and camaraderie, but most importantly to serve this great cause.  All of us at Ocean Creek feel very privileged to host this wonderful event, and particularly our special guests of honor Mimi, who is a camp counselor and former camper, and Lea who is a current camper.

We would like to give special thanks to Bill Lavin and Bob Brower of the NJFMBA for their efforts in putting this event together, as well as ACCESS Communications (www.acinj.com) for their support.
