January 2008 Archives

Myrtle Beach was abuzz again last Monday night after a third sand sculpture appeared that had a striking resemblance to a South Carolina native and host of a popular TV show on Comedy Central, Stephen Colbert.

We knew that Hard Rock Park was bringing a bigger than life music experience, but weren't sure they were taking it to such literal levels!

The Democratic Party takes to the Palace Theatre tonight as the Congressional Black Caucus Institute host Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards in the second of two presidential debates that have been dubbed as the most important events in the history of Myrtle Beach, SC. This debate plays a major role in the presidential race as the SC Democratic Primary is held on Saturday, January 26.  After a strong showing in Myrtle Beach, John McCain came away from the SC Republican Primary as the victor.

In what has been called by some as the first of the two most important national events in Myrtle Beach history, the Republican Presidential Debate broadcast Myrtle Beach to the United States and to the world last night as six Republican Presidential hopefuls took the stage at the Palace Theatre as they battled to win over voters all over the nation. The Democratic Party will visit Myrtle Beach with debates of their own on January 21 as the party races heat up.
